A site that does the work
Instagram is not a website. A page that stays up after the story expires still has a job to do.

Most of the businesses I meet in Bhola already have a presence: a Facebook page, a WhatsApp number on a signboard, sometimes an Instagram that is updated when someone remembers. That is not the same as a website. A website is the one address you can print on a card and trust will still explain the business at midnight, on a slow connection, to someone who has never heard of you.
The job is usually simple. Say what you do. Show the work. Make it obvious how to write, call, or book. Keep the hours honest. If the site cannot do those four things without a plugin circus, it is not finished.
I still build in WordPress because the people I work with need to change a menu, a price, or a paragraph without waiting on me. The craft is in making that safe — a theme that holds its shape, an admin that is not a warehouse, and a page that loads before the visitor loses patience.
If you are choosing between another year of stories and a site that does the work, start with the site. The stories can point at it.
